Bank Card
Debit cards, often made from PVC or composite plastics, benefit from Nanografi Inks that offer rapid curing and strong adhesion to non-porous surfaces. By incorporating UV/IR security elements, these inks facilitate quick on-the-spot verification without sacrificing vivid colors or sharp print resolution, ensuring both security and brand appeal.

The Security Challenge
A bank card is a polymer object that lives in a wallet for three to five years. It is swiped, tapped, bent, cleaned and handed to people who are not security specialists — a cashier, a hotel receptionist, a branch clerk. Card fraud rarely begins with a perfect physical clone, but a card that looks plausible enough is still the entry point for a great deal of it.
That places a specific demand on the printed layer. It has to survive mechanical and chemical stress on a plastic substrate, hold tight registration on a card-format press, and still carry a feature that cannot be reproduced with commercially available equipment — one a non-expert can check in a few seconds under a lamp.
How Nanografi Security Inks Are Used
Card bodies are PVC, PET or polycarbonate: polymer surfaces, not paper. That single fact determines the ink system. UV curing security offset inks polymerise instantly under ultraviolet exposure and form a stable, durable film with strong adhesion on plastic and polymer surfaces, drying fast with minimal set-off on press.
Within that system, functional components carry the actual security response:
- UV fluorescence — UV offset security inks are invisible in daylight and respond under long-wave 365 nm or short-wave 254 nm illumination, with bi- and tri-fluorescent options.
- Infrared behaviour — IR security inks allow machine verification outside the visible spectrum through infrared absorption or reflection.
- Up-conversion layers — different emission colours or IR-to-visible conversion, giving a check that is unusual enough to be difficult to imitate.
- Design printing — visible inks that keep colour integrity and chemical resistance across the card’s life.
Why Security Inks Are Used Here
- Fast, non-expert verification — a UV lamp at the counter is enough for a first-line check.
- Adhesion and chemical resistance on plastic, so the feature does not wear off before the card expires.
- Fast curing and minimal set-off, which matters at card production throughput.
- Layered features, so a single reproduction technique is not enough to defeat the card.
- Fogra certification and quality assurance across the Nanografi security ink portfolio.
